Pants fit as expected, EXCEPT from the waistband to the crotch (which was too short - almost like they are petits). I love Columbia pants, but I don't understand how the entire pair of pants can fit a regular size person, who is regular height , except for the crotch, which appears to be 3" too short. Columbia sizes are often not consistent, even among the same style. I have two pairs of this exact capri, but they are all dark colors. I would love to have a colorful pair in blue or coral, etc - I guess I just need to keep looking. My other pairs always look great, last a long time & are wrinkle free out of the dryer. I had to return this pair, but will keep looking until I get a pair that fit in a bright color.
I don't know whether they altered the pants the model is wearing or they just squeezed her in a pair a couple of sizes too small, because the waist of my pants fit perfect, but the legs are VERY baggy. I wish they would also put side ties or an elastic in the waist, because I wore them yesterday and as soon as I put my small cell phone in one pocket and car keys in the other, they were falling off. They have belt loops, but I hate belts.
These are very comfortable, are lightweight, and fit well except for one important area.... At the risk of TMI, ladies, I was unhappy with the dreaded camel toe effect these caused. Too tight in the crotch. I don't know if this is just an off occurence in production but it warrants a return in my book. :( I hope other Columbia products aren't like this.
unfortunately, the problem with imported products is that the quality control is lacking as far as size consistency. I bought one pair at REI then ordered these through Amazon and they were way different as far as size. Otherwise, these are great pants, cool and dry quickly with pockets and drawstrings at the knee.
In the end I sent these back and kept the Columbia Sportswear Women's Global Adventure Adjustable Pants I also ordered, which felt nicer, are a hundred times more flattering and are more flexible for mixed terrains as they can be worn as capris or full length pants.
These knee pants fitted me but were a little bit tight, they also gaped around the pockets so looked pretty yuk. I noted that lots of reviews for Columbia clothing thought the sizes were a bit off and that you should order one size up. Pros for these pants would probably be that they would be good for hot weather (they were very lightweight) and had back pockets with zippers.
