To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
These pants definitely run small. I bought the Columbia Women's Saturday Trail II Convertible Pant, Grill, 20W/Regular, and they fit just fine, but the zippers around the thighs pulled too tight when I sat down. So I bought these pants (Columbia Sportswear Plus Aruba Roll Up Pants 20W, and they are too small. I can get into them, but they are more snug than is comfortable. How can the same company make two pair of pants that are ostensibly the same size, but not make them actually the same size? Very annoying. Other than that they seem like fine pants and I'm going to try to see if they have a size bigger.
Good, lightweight pants. Reviewers mistakenly stated that they were too large. They are not, although they are too long, which is a big difference. The only drawback is that the clip to roll up the pants is only on the outside and not on both inside and outside of the pants leg. I have a pair of Columbia roll up pants and the clip is both on inside and outside of legs. These also do not have any give on the waist, they do not stretch at all. Since reviews stated that they ran small, I ordered a larger size. Then realized they they were not large but short, which is fine because I am not a tall gal. Ultimately, I returned them after two tries to get the right size. As they have no give at the waist, I was unable to get a fit that worked, which was a pity as I really wanted them to work.
I am 16 in waist but did not want binding waistband so went with 18. A tiny bit loose but better than being too tight. They do not fall diwn to my hips. A bit lkng on my 5'6" frame - gettjng them hemmed. Dry quickly. Wearing tights under them for cool weather hiking.
