There was a problem with this jacket. Every Columbia jacket I ever owned in XXL fit me perfectly , but not this one, it was too tight. I think the issue is that the warm fleece lining causes the jacket to fit like one size smaller. Unfortunately, I had to send it back, but otherwise it looks good, felt warm and comfortable except it was too tight due to the fullness of the fleece liner.
This jacket arrived at the promised time and was a very good fit. It is quite suitable as a spring and fall jacket. I was surprised that the fabric on the sleeves of the lining was not made of a smooth material.. Normally I wear a sweater with the jacket. The combination of a sweater and 'rough' material of makes it a little clumsy when putting-on the jacket. I wish the draw string for the hood included a better quality fastener
I'm a tall, Rubinesque woman. The jacket is long in the sleeves and body. The only critique is that the jacket zipper is flimsy where the rest of the jacket is very sturdy. I love that it is truly an all weather jacket for the west coast in winter.
First off this jacket will keep you warm. I'm in 6° weather in Wyoming right now and I'm staying warm outside. But the reason not 5 stars is because. The inter liner's cuffs are big as everyone says. They do not have elastic in them. I think they did this for wearing big gloves with the jacket but if your not it get very annoying. I fix this problem buy taking about an inch an a half of the cuff and folding it together and sewing it. That made it just right for my wrist. The other problem is the at the back near the bottom it does not zip or snap to the outside liner so it is just hanging there so when you put the jacket on it will fold up on your back. The last problem is the sleeves only have one snap to connect the inner liner to the outside liner and it hooks to it with a elastic strap so it moves more then it should. It is very warm and water proof. It does run big. I got the 3X tall and it is big on me which is not a problem for me because I'm a big guy(6' 3" and 275lb) so it is hard to find cloths that are big on me. But for $200 you think that the problems most people are having would not be a problem. I would say it more like $125 to $150 at best.
I bought this for my husband and it was too big. He is 6'3 about 230 lbs with a long torso. I figured he wears an XL regularly but need talls., so I got an XLT... this jacket was way too big on him. Sleeves were too long and it was very wide. Length was ok though. I figured a Large tall would probably have been better for him. Great jacket though- the detachable fleece liner is a great addition to it.
I really like the jacket. It’s pretty warm but actually gets warmer as you wear it.
As other people have said the removable inner fleece liner is humongous around the mid section making me probably never wear it with just that part. This pretty much defeats the purpose of getting a 3-1 jacket. It’s supposed to be for tall people, not necessarily wide people
