Slapping this baby down on my bathroom floor Day 1 was a dream. No issues, beautifully soft, doesn't slide around, matches my bathroom's color scheme perfectly, etc. etc.

It wasn't until I had to wash the bad boy that I was in for a surprise.

It's like, you want a bathmat to be super absorbent. You don't want a pool of water on the floor in your bathroom, hence the bathmat. I am not denying that it wasn't and shouldn't be doing its job.

BUT.

After putting this guy in the washer for a quick cycle, it said "hey, I'm a bathmat, there's a whole lot of water, and I got a job to do" and SUCKED up all the washer's water to the point that the machine was confused on why there wasn't any water. 10 mins into a 30 min cycle, the poor thing didn't know what to do with itself and just errored out in a panic. Chimes out of control.

Figuring I could just take it from the washer to the dryer, I soon realized that, er... there's a lot of water in this bathmat. Like... A LOT. Like... standing over the bathtub for several minutes trying to wring out as much as you can, but you know it's worthless because it just somehow sucks up 60% of what you're trying to wring out. It took a lot of trips from the tub to the dryer and vice versa to get this thing dry. And 6 hours later, it STILL wasn't 100% dry by the time I just left it on the bathroom floor and went to bed. C'mon. It was literally 11PM.

Anywho, great mat! I have no idea what I'll do the next time I need to clean it, though! I'm not even sure I want to put my poor washer through that confusing, panicky situation again.

An improvement

So I just got this and laid it down, and honestly expected it to be a bit bigger based on the size I chose. It is just big enough for both my feet when getting out of the shower, but not even the slightest bit more. Want to do a 45 degree turn? Forget it.

It is soft and plush, which is great, but not the best by far. I can't tell you about cleaning, as I've not had to do that yet, but I suspect if it is able to be cleanied in a washing machine that it won't be an issue. Honestly, I'm the only one using it, so I'm not sure how often it will even need to be washed.

My personal view is that this is an improvement over a towel being thrown down instead, but not much of an improvement. The improvement is that it is a lot softer than the tile floor or the towel on a tile floor, and won't come unraveled.

However, I somewhat wish I'd spent more money for something larger and plusher, but I'm not going to send it back to do that at this point, because I don't think it is worth the time or energy to do so.

This is super comfortable and extremely cushiony, even by memory foam standards. It's absorbent yet quick to dry, and the soft, velvety fabric feels great on bare feet. The grips on the bottom are tiny but very numerous, so the rug stays in place fairly well.

Even though it was folded for shipping, it isn't flexible enough to stay that way on its own, and I don't want to force it because the foam still has a dent down the center. The fabric wasn't damaged, so the top looks fine. However, I do have to store the rug standing up against a wall, and it doesn't bend well enough to fit in my fairly small washer. Those are just minor issues to me though since the rug wouldn't be nearly as comfortable if it wasn't so thick.

I went with the littlest one, and that was the best choice for my limited space and suboptimal laundry situation. I definitely wish I could've gone bigger though, simply because the duck print looks a bit sparse on the smallest option. The ducks are fairly large and widely spread out, so only a handful fit on this size. Mine has just five (nearly) full ducks and one half duck. I adore the simple design and soothing colors, and I'm still happy with my rug despite the low duck count. For this particular print, I'd advise grabbing a larger size if possible, but I do recommend it regardless.

This is a different carpet for the bathroom. So far everyone likes it alot. Its softness and quality are just so different and nice ... part of the process is it just takes time to stop with the 'wow' and really evaluate it. It is that good.

We have not washed it yet but, fact is, most of the washings of other carpets came in response to wearing them down (flat) so they looked like they need to be changed. This carpet does not wear down - at all so far. But let's give it more time.

I suspect we are getting more. We like it!!

It does not immediately absorb water but by a little time it does. So far this is okay.

The only other issue is that it is thick. So some baths where my aging parent walks, or where a walker is used, may present a tripping hazard. But that can also happen with any carpet. We are in process of discussing this based on experience.

Soft, velvet bath mat

I waited a while for my bath mats, since the size was out of stock, but worth the wait.
I ordered (2) 24' x 48" in Smoke Blue. The color goes well with my light gray floor tile.
I wish the size was 30" instead of 24" but that is a standard size.
The mat is extremely velvet like, so if you don't like the uneven coloration, don't order it.
If you know what a velvet carpet is like to vacuum, that's exactly what these mats are like.
Beautiful but just be aware, walking on it will show light + dark color.

Thick memory foam bath mats

Love these bath mats! Our old ones would wet up as soon as you stepped out of the shower but that’s not the case with these- they absorb water well and are nice to stand on after a shower. Nice thick memory foam, bought a second one to match under the sink. Love em. Only downside is it’s a little thick and the door doesn’t slide over them but the door is usually cropped or closed, not open wide so it isn’t a huge downside.

It's Still New, and l Like it, But it's Probably a So-So Replacement for a Bath Rug

I've only had this mat for a day, and I use it in place of a rug, so keep these points in mind as you read this.

First the pros:

The squishy feel when I step on it is delightful.
The creases caused by shipping it folded come out very, very quickly. Don't be concerned about them.
I take nighttime showers, and the mat was completely dry by morning. Keep in mind that I have a very small bathroom, and the heat vent is very good. Time will tell if drying becomes more of an issue when the a/c is on instead of the heat.

The cons:

It does not stick to the floor at all, so I suspect that it could slide around if not for the fact that I always keep a rubberized "mat" (for lack of a better word) under my bathroom rugs.

Once I step out of the shower, it really absorbs the moisture -- and releases it after feet are dry, but you step on it. Hopefully, I'll get used to getting into bed with wet feet, but this might turn out to be a game-changer over time, so it may not actually be a viable replacement for a more standard bathroom rug. Live and learn, I guess.

It’s so soft and I can stand for a long time without my feet hurting. It’s not as big as I expected but it’s fine for now since so many products are out of stock or on shipping delays because of the world at the moment.

The navy blue is deep which I like. When I got it it was folded up so took some time stomping out the creases - why couldn’t it be rolled up??

And I haven’t washed it yet so hopefully the color doesn’t wash out and the grip on the bottom doesn’t get messed up.

Lots of positives to this rug - it is super soft, super absorbent and very cute. However, when I received the one I ordered (which I believe was Mustard) it was just a touch greener than I was expecting so it's actually closer to a very light chartreuse than a true mustard color. BUT, this actually worked out because the shower curtain I was trying to match it with has a bit more green than yellow so it is actually perfect. :)
