I had breast cancer surgery and even though I probably don't need to wear a post-surgical bra anymore, I do, because I feel I'm protecting my form/body better. This bra is firm without being tight or uncomfortable and, I think, flattering despite the 'post-surgical' label.
I will be purchasing another to wear for exercise.
I am one week post OP breast reduction. Listen up ladies ...you need a good surgical bra to keep your new girls firmly in place. I came home with the hospital one and that was not gonna work as I swelled more. After reading reviews I took advice and ordered one. I am glad I did. I ordered a Large and new size is a high B to small C. It fit well. Do not order up a size. It compresses and is tight enough to do the job. It snaps upfront for semi easy put on. Do yourself a huge favor and buy a couple of these before surgery as you won't want the hassle later. Be prepared. Been sleeping in it for a week, I have hand washed it and it did not shrink. Good overall. Don't fuss with the zip up sports bras they do not offer enough support. BRABIC is the choice here.
I wanted to provide a comprehensive review of both bra styles. For reference I had a breast augmentation. For reference went from 275cc 32B to 550cc 32-34D predicted.
I purchased 3 sizes based on the size chart measurements. It’s hard to gage your size post op due to extreme swelling from surgery. I recommend sizing up one. I ordered a small in the hook front closures. I ordered small, medium and large in the zip front. I will start by stating ALL have adjustable straps. It is a hook and loop adjustment on each strap. It is very difficult to unhook the strap the first time but once it’s out it’s easy to move up or down. The front zip style bras are very comfortable! The thick band in the bottom did not cut into my sutures at all. There is light padding around the bottom portion of the bra only to provide comfort. The zip front is easy to use. The medium worked very well for me post op in the zip front style. The fabric is soft and very stretchy. I was able to place ice packs inside the bra. It would bounce back and not get stretched out around the cups. The band does get stretched and is a bit loose on the medium. But it’s comfortable. The small was too tight around my lower bust. I returned that one prior to my surgery. The large was much too big around the lower bust. For reference my typical bra size is 32.
For the hook front closure version I purchased a small since I could adjust the size by 3 different hook levels. The straps are also adjustable hook and loop style. I kept this thinking it would fit post op but it seems too small. I would recommend sizing up on this one as well. The band seems to fit but it has too much compression in the cups even on the loosest hook. The hooks are also a bit harder to use when you are a few days post op and not able to use your chest muscles.
Overall very happy these bras are comfortable post surgically. They are not attractive but really do a good job after surgery. I would recommend it. Sizing is a bit hard to nail down but I recommend one size up from your current size.
I got this bra for after my breast reduction and had to wear it for a number of weeks as I was healing. I found it supportive, adjustable, comfortable and easy to take on and off with limited mobility. Usually I hate to sleep in bras but I had to per doctors orders and sleeping in this wasn’t too bad! I ended up getting 2 so I could swap them out as they were being washed. I think the only thing I would change is the bottom band could go slightly lower onto the rib cage occasionally I had to adjust it because it was digging in in not a comfy way and folding up on itself at the bottom elastic band but all and all I’d use it again given the circumstances and it was definitely better than the one I came home from surgery with!
This bra is very comfortable. The material is soft and smooth, and the three levels of adjustability with the front hooks ensure a good fit. I recently had breast cancer surgery and was looking for a support bra that would be comfortable enough to wear to sleep. This is it! The only thing that prevents me from giving it 5 stars is that there is no padding in the front, so I would not wear it with shirts that are of thinner material. The side padding gives great support and comfort, but a little front padding would provide more modesty. Regardless, this is a great bra for those of us recovering from breast surgery.
I received my order promptly. The bra is very soft, looks exactly as advertised and was packaged nicely. I haven't had a surgical procedure, but I ordered the bra for back and shoulder support. The bra fit pretty good and feels very good on, but it didn't provide me with the support I was after. I normally wear a 36DD and ordered a large. I like the front clasps and the width of the shoulder straps, but the shoulder straps are somewhat stretchy and have only a few tabs to make an adjustment. I'm 5'2" so someone with a longer torso may not have the issue with the strap adjustments. Had the shoulder straps been more adjustable, this bra may have fit like I wanted it to and offered better support for my heavy breasts. As it is, the bra provides little support for me, but it is comfortable and I'll keep it for casual wear around the house.
I have been wearing this post-surgical bra now for 3 weeks, and it is SO much more comfortable than the one from my doctor's office. My skin had become sensitive from the fabric of my other bra to the point where I couldn't stand it. This bra is very well-made, out of much softer material. I wish it was a little thicker material over the breast, so its not so obvious when I'm cold, but that's the only suggestion I have. Great quality for the price too! I wish I had bought a black one to wear under darker tops!
My experience thus far. I ordered the M (fit for 34B 34C 34D and 36A). I do not yet know what my cup size is or will be after recovery. I had an explant of large implants and a lift. I was a DD/DDD before. I do know I measure a 34 at the ribs/waist. I received the Post-Surgical Sports Support Bra with zipper front last night and put it on this morning. It fits perfectly snug and comfortably tight around the middle and bottom of bust and around the rib cage area. The only complaint I have is that even with the three levels of adjustment for the starps the highest setting still feels looser than I’d have hoped. I have it paired with a sports bra that offers lift up support so I am getting what I need overall. Id still give this a 4 star rating on amazon. I do feel like this bra gives me the compression my Dr was hoping for. The front zipper makes life so much easier. Especially in the beginning when you can’t lift your arms up and its is easier than the ace bandage wrap I was sent home in. All in all a great product.
This bra was recommended to me by my nurse. It is very soft and comfortable. The adjustable straps help the fit, although I ordered a medium and it was much too large (32DD for reference). The return was easy, and a few days later I have a size small that fits wonderfully. I'm very excited to have this to wear after my surgery. The band is low enough to avoid any rubbing on an incision if you get an anchor type incision. It is also flattering, which I did not expect or necessarily purchase the bra for! So, Bonus!
