AVOID- THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM. This looks like it was made from an old mattress cut up in someone's basement. It smells awful. There's no label whatsoever, the pieces of memory foam were literally just rolled up in saran wrap (a lot of saran wrap). What a joke. Did I mention the HORRIBLE smell (there is NO way this is certified, and again, they didn't even label it -- maybe without a label they think it's fine to be selling this garbage?). Amazon should take this seller and product off. My kids, waiting for the fill for their bean bag, opened it before I got home (outside, thank goodness). And 10 lbs? UPS called it 9 on their label (which includes the box and padding, oh, and probably 2 lbs of saran wrap). I'm going to be returning a 2 x 2 box with all the pieces (don't worry seller, it's no where near 10 lbs lol).
The update is that I sifted through the second bag of this and found all sorts of debris. Shredded plastic, shredded brown paper (like a grocery bag), hard plastic pieces. I am throwing this product away and ordered from other vendors.
I have ordered this many times since the spring. The last one to arrive, less than two weeks ago, was an inferior product. In the past the memory foam was soft and fluffy. This time the pieces are too large, many have a hard outside edge, feel lumpy, and the packaging was very poor. When I unrolled the package, there were holes in the plastic and the memory foam went everywhere.
In the spring the foam was amazing. Super soft and fluffy. It was mostly a light blue color. Then it changed to a blue and black version that was not as fluffy. Now the mostly white version is almost not even the same product. The quality has gone downhill significantly. I have tried to find a way to reach out to the company , to no avail.
The pieces of memory foam are shredded so small that it is tough to use the product to fill my cushion. Since the pieces are so small it would take a lot to fill a cushion PLUS it is the biggest nightmare of a mess to clean up. The foam sticks to everything so it took me 45 minutes to clean-up and my cushion that I filled does not feel anymore cushion than it did before. I had ordered 10 lbs. and I ended up throwing away more than half of it!
I ordered the twin pack of 5lbs to fill up 2 kid sized Target bean bags. ** When I received my order I had only one bag, knowing they would be compact I thought huh this is small and weighted it - it was only 5lbs. Not a combined 10lb bag. I contacted Amazon and they sent the other 5lb bag promptly. Just be aware - it doesn't say "poundage" on the bag itself. ** I don't think this is worth the price it is - it is a mix of memory foam pieces from what I imagine are cast off cuttings from larger memory foam items. Really a huge mark up for what would be going in the dumpster bin anyhow. ** I ordered these to avoid throwing out the bean bags which were looking very sad. I could of - with what I paid for the foam - just bought 2 new bags from Target for the same price. I was really hoping memory foam would be fluffier and fill them up better, but no. For ultimate lush fluff, I would of needed 2 10lb bags - which would come at a crazy cost. So, I am disappointed. I wouldn't recommend at this price for the amount you get if you are trying to be frugal.
The product information said that this would fill about 2 cubic feet. I expected it to expand some when I took it out of the cling wrap, it didn't expand at all. I tore it apart like the packaging said to, thinking it would expand, but it didn't. The size is equivalent to about 2 footballs. Very disappointed!
So, I wanted my son's reading chair/bean bag chair more comfortable. Over time the polystyrene beans compress. Now I could have spent $40 and gotten one bag of polystyrene beads and it would have solved the problem and fluffed it enough that it wouldn't be so hard for me to get up from the chair. Instead I thought I would be a good idea to replace with memory foam for more comfort. Getting the polystyrene beads out was a stupid crazy idea and made the biggest mess. went through 4 vaccuum cleaner bags sucking up all the ones that fell out. Anyway, purchased 20 pounds of memory foam for about $120. it's all in the bean bag and my butt is still hitting the floor when I sit. I have another 20 pounds waiting to add to it. but I think it's going to need 40 more, and maybe even more still so I don't just sink to the floor. I need comfort AND support. So with enough foam this could be awesome. but you've really gotta get your hands in there and shove it into all the nooks and crannies. a little mess but not as bad as polystyrene. NOW, the problem is, this chair is HEAVY. I figure by the time I'm done there very well could be 80 pounds of memory foam in this thing. If I could change my mind I'd just deal w/ the polystyrene. Or make a mix of polystyrene and memory foam. So I'm going to need to order at least another 20-40 pounds of this stuff. And while comfortable, it's just been a way too expensive project. I fee like I could have bought another chair at this point.
Love that it's a made in the USA product and it yields exactly the amount promised and I think slightly more than promised which was a delighter that offset my disappointment in the amount of very tiny flakes I didn't expect. I do like the variance in size of pieces of foam but feel there are too many tiny pieces which did not help fill the leather cushions I was stuffing. This worked for me well enough when I mixed it with something else. Alone it causes a slightly lumpy appearance but I think that's just something to take into account with each project whether or not that matters. I am overall happy enough.
