Pros: fabric is nice. Soft to the touch, a bit stretchy, and has a lining. Love the pockets. Quality materials. Length is at the knee.
Con: The cut of the dress sits at your natural waistline. This is not a true a line dress. This will not do well on people with a short waist. Also the armpit needs to sit a tiny bit higher up. Moving my arm moved the whole dress up and since the neckline is a bit of a boatneck. Lots of things will be showing from the top angle.
For me it just made me look like a box. So everyone is different.
I got this in black but looking through the other shades, I bet it would be even better in that emerald or navy - they look lovely!
And I think they'd highlight some of the nice features of this dress - the slit at the sleeves, the bateau neck that is modest, comfortable, and a little different, and the good length (I'm 5'4" and it hits just about the knees).
However with the flaps and the placement of the pockets, it's kind of awkward. If you ever put your hands in the pockets (and how are you going to avoid that when pockets are the best?), it bunches up the material right at your waist which is not an area I want to look bigger. I also wish this had a lining - a handful of Lark & Ro dresses do so that's not a crazy wish. The material is still decently thick, I didn't worry about lines but I like the extra coverage.
I'm not sure if I like this dress - I packed it recently on a work trip on the east coast. It packed and wore well, and was fairly comfortable. However there are a few things that make me not yet sold on it. The flaps on the dress look a little weird and somehow slightly outdated? Maybe it's just me but they don't feel hip. And the pockets flare out a bit when the dress is being worn, probably also because the dress fits a bit more tightly than I expected (I'm usually an 8 and I wore a 10, which felt snug). Lastly, I wish the length was even one inch longer on the hem. It's JUST short enough that I don't feel comfortable wearing it without tights/leggings underneath in a business setting (and the dress isn't hip enough for a casual setting). Not sure if I'll keep this long term but it's just okay as a work dress.

4.0 out of 5 starsNot a fan of the pockets

I have many Lark & Ro dresses and clothes, and I like this brand. They make good quality clothes. The Lark & Ro Women's Half Sleeve Bateau Neck Fit and Flare Dress with Flap Pockets is an attractive dress, but I’m not a huge fan of the pockets. I think the pockets make my hips look wider. I would like this dress a lot more without the pockets. However, if you have a job that requires pockets, maybe this dress will work. The dress runs just a tad small. It is made from 85% Polyester and 15% Elastane so it does have stretch. I hand wash and line dry.
