To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
Unfortunately the right sleeve is see on wonky and seems to not just be much shorter then the left one, but made for a different size shirt. It really sucks bc this was bought for an event and we couldn’t send it back in time. We bought a medium bc my 5”2 105-110lb kid is a 32DD. It was quite large so if you want to give it a try it seems to be more in like with American sizing. Other reviewers loved it so maybe it’s a one off or a prob with quality control. The design is super cute. Def gives a gothic or Victorian feel. I would rec having a camisole or Demi bra to wear underneath bc the fabric is thin. It’s def not Cotten, more a kind of crinkly polyester but it doesn’t feel bad. If you buy it def hand wash and hand dry if you want it to last. If we’d had more time (we needed it in two days bc my kid tells me 3 days before her friends bday party that it’s Alice & Wonderland themed) I’d have gotten a different shirt. This was the only one that came quick enough so I took a chance on a 4 star rated shirt. Hopefully they can get the quality control upped bc the price is really good for all the details. Like I love the cuffs and the lace. As an ex goth I appreciate the details and the price bc when I was young goth cloths weren’t cheap. My final verdict is: if you have time to return if there’s a problem, and your budget is limited, you may really like it. There was only one tiny stray thread and the buttons were attached well enough that they’ll stay on if your careful. But you get what you pay for (to a degree, at a certain point your paying for a name brand and not quality anymore, but sometimes you just can’t afford quality fabric and stiching.) And if this shirt fits your budget and it comes current, then careful care will most likely keep you able to wear it for awhile. Also I don’t know if the sizing indicator stuck (I put in 5”2 105-110 lbs but the height is stuck at 3ft.)
I normally wear a 1x so I decided to size up to a 3x based on the reviews. I even compared my measurements to the ones listed in the description. It was still way too small by about 4/5 inches in the chest area. I could not button the top buttons at all. I wished it fit because the quality and details are beautiful.
It's a good costume shirt, but it is VERY sheer fabric. The bustline is out of proportion to the rest of it, which makes for some very strange gapping and pulling. The long shank on the buttons allows the front to open instead of lying flat. To make this work, it will need a lot of help - invisible snaps, letting out darts, cutting open button holes that were never finished during manufacture, etc. I appreciate that the bow comes off the front, at least.
I triple checked the measurements on this, especially the bust measurement, before I bought it. According to the chart, in the biggest size I was under the measurement by almost an inch. When I got the shirt, it fit my neck flawlessly, was long enough in the arms, and looked super cute -- except for the fact that it gaped hugely at my boobs. I tried different bras, a sports bra, and no bra to try to get it to work. Long story short, it doesn't fit the way it said it would. I'll be returning it. For those who have smaller busts relative to the rest of them, it should be fine. The bottom button is also weirdly high on the shirt, like it's meant to be tucked in to waist-high bottoms.
To all women with a large bust, the size 3X that I ordered was no where near a size 3X. Be aware that their size 3X would fit a 36B or 34C at best! Therefore, if your bust is larger than a 36B/34C, there is no way you will get this 3X shirt to button. Since I had to have the shirt for a witch performance, I cut the shirt with scissors straight up the back to the shoulder blade placket. With a black cape over it and a black tank under the shirt, no one knew the difference. If the shirt fits you, the fabric is substantial but not bulky or hot. The style of the shirt looks just like the online photo. The necktie is a separate piece so you can opt to not wear it if desired. Looks fantastic for a gothic/Victorian witch.
This is a very nice blouse, however the white is not remotely white. It is very definitively ivory. I held it up to a white skirt of mine under several different light sources and it is definitely not true white.
I will add that it was very pretty, fit well, and seemed to be well made.
