5.0 out of 5 starsEpic scissors! Use for so many applications in the kitchen

They are sharp and definitely not child friendly!! Easy to clean and great around the kitchen for all applications, love that it separates into two pieces for cleaning. Don't by one, get 2 or three if you love to cook
I love Joseph & Joseph products....I’ve been on a personal mission to buy this brand as a first preference because it’s just so well made and generally very innovative.
Then I purchased the scissors.....what a massive disappointment! They feel absolutely awful in the hand to hold. How did this get past the design stage? Did they make prototypes and try these out before going to mass production???... I have an average size medium mans hand....these feel overly clunky.....with hot spots....and pinch points.....Just awkward.....I can’t use these..........and I can’t give them away because I don’t have any enemies to give them to.
I was expecting the best scissors ever made and got instead poorly designed junk.
A very easy to clean device as both blades can detach by simple means to separate. However it would be better to indicate on the blades which side match to put back together faster as the sides can be easily confused. It has a small hole to allow cutting of asperagus or similar vegetables.
I personally like these kitchen scissors for the jobs I need them for around the kitchen. However, they are not poultry shears by any means, even the shape and design of these scissors look nothing like a tool for sectioning a chicken. I guess they may suffice to section a cornish hen at best. But if you want to use them to sandwiches, sliced meat, pancakes and other like items that are soft, then rest assured they'll do the job. Plus the are easy to cleanup since they come appart with very little effort.
I recommend these scissors for most of your kitchen scissor type jobs. But I would not uses them for sectioning an average sized chicken. If you do need to section poultry, do look up, "poultry shears", and you will notice that these are not poultry shears by any means.
One normally expects Joseph Joseph stuff to have a certain style, but I wouldn't say that this does. Mrs E. L. Wisty said that they look like the kind of scissors for children that are unable to cut through anything much for safety reasons. I see what she's getting at (and the blades are a bit dull looking rather than shiny), however for me they're something stored in the kitchen drawer than always in the eye line. They are very effective scissors though. The finger hole is perfectly sized and shaped to get proper grip and force, and the thumb hole has an extra protrusion so that you can use the other hand for extra purchase with the thumb of the other hand pressing on that protrusion. You can take the two halves apart for proper cleaning, very desirable for kitchen scissors.
Undeniably good quality scissors, these feel great in my hand and are very good cutters. They handle food with ease and the herb stripping works well. I think the price is great for the quality. They lost a star for me not because they are not good scissors, but because they come apart a little too easily - I have found one side drops off fairly frequently - not sure if this is because of me - but it would be good if they came apart only when I want them to!
