I usually swim in 2mm, O'neill wakeboard shorts. A little higher waist is a good idea, but this a poor execution.
If you are an open water swimmer, there is a serious problem with the design of these shorts. In the back of the suit, the drawstring is about three inches down from the top of the suit. This makes it impossible to keep the top of the suit from ballooning-out when you are moving. It's like towing a parachute.
I don't know if I can somehow sew a drawstring into the top of the suit where it belongs of if I will have to return them.
Using these for float-tube fishing; basically up to my hips in chilly wintertime bay water (63 degrees). They help maintain my core temperature without the hassles of wearing full waders or a farmer john style wetsuit. The high back prevents the shock of cold water when an occasional wave slops cold water up inside the tube. I am your basic middle aged guy, 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, with a 40 inch waist, no butt, and big thighs. The XXXL fit me great. Not restrictive, even while walking a mile to a launch site.
Very nice, inexpensive Shorts. I purchased these for jet-skiing, and am very pleased with how they fit, and how comfortable they are."For the record I am Jennifer's husband', I'm 5'11",215# 36" waist and the XL fits great. They seems VERY well made.
I have a butt, but not like implant size. My thighs are also thick, but not extreme thunder. I usually wear a women's size 16 bottoms(American not smaller Asian size 16). Before I put them on I stretched the leg and booty area with my hands a little so that I could slide on and fold up the shorts a little easier to get it on. Since shorts were brand new, it felt a little snug. I like the length(about 2 inches above the top of my knee), the high waist, and rise up the back(with a butt a longer back rise is appreciated). The inside drawstring came in handy when I secured a small plastic sleeve to keep my credit cards with me when I snorkeled. The shorts got slightly looser after being in the water for a while. Overall, these shorts were comfortable and has the typical durability of 3mm neoprene of this quality. I'm a little picky and I'm glad that I purchased these shorts. I've been searching for a while for something that wouldn't break the bank. Would love to have zippers on the sides to make putting on a breeze, but that's another level and comes at a cost. Would purchase again.
I ordered according to the size chart. It says 31-33' is Small, and I ordered Small as I am 31-33 and it fits a little tight when dry, as any swimsuit should (finally this is my second skin). I am satisfied. When swimming - it soaks water and you don't feel it at all. Perfect product for this money (now is on discount). Keeps me warm in the swimming pool, and I stay real long there while exercising.
XXXL size and I have a 43" waist. It fits me well and does the job as intended. You need to peel it off, as expected. If your waist is bigger than 43", you may want the next size up. It has a draw string.
I thought I should write a review as to sizes of the top. Read the size chart carefully. I am 4'11 and weigh 100 lbs. I ordered a size large and it is a perfect fit. I love the way the shoulder and upper arm fit. The body part of the top is snug but the upper arm and shoulder are a loose fit making it great for free movement. The colors are bright and very pretty. The quality is excellent. I bought this wet suit top to wear in a chlorine pool I will be sure to rinse it thoroughly after each use. I would buy another top of this brand and from this seller.
