This reference covers the history of ecology with very little missing. An introduction to the start of ecological thought dated as far back as Aristotle to the present day. A perfect supplement to textbooks for the basic study of ecology. A highly recommended read for those wanting an introduction to the subject of ecology.
A good thorough introductory book on ecology, well written and easy to read. However, it is misleading of Amazon to state that Tony Juniper is the author, and to further the deception with his bio on their webpage for the book. Juniper is not the author. He merely wrote the foreword. The book is written by a panel of other authors, which makes the book strangely characterless and artificial, informative as it may be. It's still a good book though.
This is a perfect, easy to understand and read book about ecology. Great for anyone studying or working within any ecology area. It has lots of diagrams and explanations and covers a huge range of subjects within Ecology. I bought this for my partner who has just completed a land and wildlife management uni course and it covers all the areas he was taught, wish he had found it sooner to reference during the course. We couldn't recommend it more!
