These are a great deal - if you don't sweat or don't have to be seen in public wearing these after you have been on your bicycle. My ride is just about 7 mi/25 minutes to work -- by the time I arrive, the seat/crotch area is so wet with sweat that it looks like I peed myself. I had to immediately remove my backpack to hold it in front of myself ... and ultimately, returned these pants because they just didn't work.
Tends to run SMALL - I wear a 10 and got XL and found these to be quite snug.
These are really nice tights, but definitely size up. Two sizes up maybe. I usually take a small or even an extra small (5’4”, 115lbs). I ordered a medium, based on other reviews, and it is still tighter than I would like. I have nothing bad to say about the quality - the material and chamois are both good. I bought the grey which are lovely and a nice change from black.
I really wanted to love these cycling tights. However, they didn't fit. I am 5'7" and 133 lbs with 37" hips. I am between size Small and Medium according to Pearl Izumi's size chart. I ordered a size Small and could barely get them over my hips. I had my 12 year old daughter (4' 10", 85 lbs) try them on and they fit her. I think a size Large would fit me the best.
I could not pass up on buying these on sale. I don't usually lean towards Pearl Izumi padded cycling gear because the pads are quite huge. Due to this being a base color of black, it doesn't make your butt look crazy huge; but it does make it look bigger. If you ride and like a lot of padding; then this is for you. I do not normally wear such thick padding for mountain bike riding but overall the fit on these were good and I like the colors. Once when mounting my bike, the bad kind of got stuck on the seat and pulled a bit; due to the pad. Overall I am pretty happy with these and like the capri length.
Based off of other reviews, I ordered a size larger. The waist is too big, and the crotch is saggy, but the legs fit fine. I don’t know if my regular size would have been better, however, I didn’t have a pair of bike pants and my crotch was getting bruised by going on bike rides without padding, so I decided to keep so I didn’t have to wait for another delivery. However, when I went for a ride, the inner cushion was exactly what I needed and was pleasantly surprised that the pants didn’t roll or ride down. So, they may be unflattering, but work for intended purpose.
These have been great for multiple ~15 mile rides. The fit is a little small, but that seems to be the norm for PI's. Normally I'd fit an XL, but I had to bump it up to a 2X. I really love the pattern. It is a nice change from flat black, without getting too flashy.
I read reviews first and got a little worried about the size and that it would fit too snug. I’m wearing size medium and decided to try medium. Best decision ever. It fits perfectly! I also have thermal cycling pants by the same brand and those are super tight in the same size but these are perfect. The fabric is sturdy, pattern is flattering. The padding is richer than my other cycling pants by the same brand but if you ride long distances - it’s perfect.
I own other Pearl Sugar riding pants, longer length and a medium, fits very well. To say these are small is an understatement, I could get them on but I think that they would cut circulation off to my calves. Something maybe about the grey material, no give what so ever, I know other people said the same but I have had issues with ordering a large and the chamois not fitting correctly so I took the chance, I think someone knew tho because this size was the $17 price but when I checked the large, it changed the price to $35 so...these are going back.
