I wish I had seen this in person before purchasing it. Not as big as I thought it would be, but then again, at this point in my life with just me and my hubby, how many dirty dishes can 2 people possibly have? Well, as it turns out, more than you think...especially if you cook rather than eat pre-packaged or take-out! On the "cook" days, I usually have to do dishes in stages...wash, dry, and wash some more...just to have enough room. And the utensil drainer...OMG, could it be any narrower!!! If I don't put spoons, forks, knives, etc, in just right, they are toppling out into the sink. Frustrating! But since I just got this, we'll use it as best we can...for now!
I have a double sided stainless steel sink. I measured it before I bought this strainer. This strainer fits perfectly; we didn't need to extend both handles (only about 1/2 " on one side). I love that the dishes can drain right over the sink. I was really tired of our standard dish drainer taking up space on our counter top. Once the dishes are dry and put away, we tuck this thing right under the sink in the cabinet. Voila! I have my counter space back. Looks better too. I use the microfiber/absorbent matts for overflow space (pots, pans, etc) which also tuck away under the sink (obviously sold separately).
I retired the one that sat on the bottom of sink after using for 3 yrs. It worked in our former home that had a double sided stainless steel sink, but with our new home, we have one large white procelin sink.. love it! But didn't love the dish strainer, it took up too much room and gunk got caught on feet. This one frees up the space underneath for easy cleaning and actually holds heavier items stacked better than I thought it would. There's two of us and it keeps up for our uses.. I hand wash our knives, coffee mugs, pots and pans, and rest goes into dishwasher.
I've been needing an over the sink dish drainer for a while. I love this because it frees up counter space and holds a days' worth of dishes which is just right for me. I thought it might get in the way but it doesn't; I can still spray down the sink without a problem. It is more convenient than a countertop dish drainer and I don't have to reach with rinsed dishes. A win.
This dish rack drainer fits perfectly on one side of my sink for when I'm washing dishes. I have a 32" stainless steel sink, the dish rack doesn't take up too much space so I can use the sink for other things. I'm glad I got this type rather than one that sits down in my sink taking up space.
My dish drainer is quite small and this small, compact, slim silverware container is exactly what I was looking for. it appears small, but holds all my washed silverware with no problem. It is sturdy material and easy to clean. It is perfect!
I have been using this for a week and it fits my sink perfectly. It drains well. I don't know if it will rust eventually, but for now it seems sturdy and fits my needs perfectly to not take up counter space with a drying rack.
