I love rugby shirts and wish they were as easy to come by as they were 10-15 years ago. This one is of a thinner material than I'm used to, it's more like a heavy T-shirt material than the traditional woven rugby-shirt material. The collar isn't as sturdy as I'm used to, either. But I'm choosing to look at that as if this is just a warmer-weather rugby shirt.
The thing that causes me to downgrade this shirt is fit. I'm 6'0" and 185 lb, and I bought this in M. It is not snug around my middle, which is nice in this day of everything being fitted. However, everything about it runs long. That works out for me great in the sleeves as my arms are unusually long for my torso. But the shirt is so long that it covers my jeans pockets. It looks kind of dorky hanging down that long.
I was looking for some casual shirts for cooler weather and found several options. These Chaps shirts (I bought 4) are my favorites. They're made from substantial material and have the types of nice little features (like a flap that covers the buttons and somewhat rubbery rather than rigid/hard buttons like real rugby shirts) that you'd expect on a quality product. These are the best I found and, at least when I bought them, they were available at a reasonable price.
took off 1 star, although there is quality materials it is just a tad too lightweight. However, if you are looking for lighter weight shirt then by all means add back the star. But, be forewarned-it is not a super-soft type material, a bit course, but for me, that was something I liked
