It's very bright, super light and comfy, but if you need a lot of light for longer than an hour this is NOT the light for you. I was on a night run and this thing started blinking about an hour and ten minutes into my run... With a good hour left in my run. Thankfully I had a backup handheld light or my trail run would have turned into wandering in the dark!
this is a decent headlamp if not a superior one. The light at its best is good enough for reading and close work, but not as bright as most we own and doesn't really light up a wide area. Like most it has varied levels and types and those all work fine as devised and the variety is a plus. It's comfortable enough, bu it's not as easy to put on as other ones and while it's fine so far I do wonder how well it will hold up--will it stretch out, etc. That said, it is comfortable on, not as comfortable as some (we're big fans of the Petzl rechargeable ones) but certainly more comfortable than others. It doesn't take up a lot of space and it flexibility/size makes it very packable. It won't replace our hiking lamps, but I think this would make a nice reading light--comfortable, light, bright enough for a book.
I've never had a headlamp before, so maybe all of them do this, but I found it very frustrating that after using it for 10-15 minutes my forehead was marked up where the light sat. I loosened the band as much as I could while still having it tight enough to stay on, but I still ended up with reddened indents on my forehead. It may seem petty, but this really bothered me. The light itself seemed fine, and I will keep it for emergency use, probably in my car. Could be useful when trying to put air in your tires at night, for example. It did take a bit of fooling around to figure out how to get the different light settings to work. The instructions are printed in extremely tiny type.
