I purchased the wall mount option that folds down for use. It is a fantastic design in my spall space -- I installed it on the wall above my sewing table, fold it down when I need it then flip it up out of the way when I'm done. There was not much for instructions and I confess it took me forever to find the lever that unlatches it to fold it up. But once I figured everything out, it's easy to use and secure.
There are 2 negatives, one major and one minor. The minor one is that the springs are a bit too springy -- the board 'bounces' when I'm ironing. It would be perfect if it were more solidly in place when folded down. But this is livable.
The major issue is that the polyester cover is crap. Within a couple months of usage it was scorching. The polyfill padding has fused to the underside of the cover, and when I was investigating this, the cover tore in that spot. It's basically scorched right through.
I've had it for less than 6 months and it's now almost unusably scorched. The scorched area is brown, stiff, and thinned out.
I'm ordering a replacement cover (from another brand) and hopefully it will fit and will last longer. Of course an ironing board cover won't last forever, but this level of scorching this quickly just means it's not made from a "heat resistant" material at all. This material should not be used for an ironing surface.
I was checking all over to find an ironing board like this. the width I had was just slightly wider than the frame. the big issue was that most I found were in a carbonate ore would not allow me to mount it so I could use it as I had a wall and closet in the way
I just refinished my laundry room and was hoping this would take the place of my regular ironing board. And in general, it does the job. However, I wasn't happy with the screws and drywall sinks that came with it. I couldn't get them to work, and they kept coming right out of my drywall. So I would recommend buying different screws. On top of that, the board is a little crooked when laying flat. One side is lower than the other. It's not super noticeable, but something noticeable. All that being said, I am happy enough with my purchase, and it's hanging well enough on my wall that I'm not removing it now. And I did get rid of my standard ironing board.
i purchased this for a smaller residence to save space. that's what it does. unlike other versions, this one can be screwed directly into a solid wooden door making for a very solid installation compared to an over-the-door model. the board is more than adequate for size and stability and padding. well boxed. unless you have room for a traditional standing board out in a room on a permanent basis, this is perfect! no more need to avoid ironing when needed.
Absolutely LIVE this. I replaced one similar that was 20 yrs old. I love this one because it mounts to your wall studs as kind as they're 16" on center. Very durable. No Assembly required. Just attach it ro your wall & you're ready. I did use dry wall screws instead of the ones that came with it.
