To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I added this to my Hue hub. Have tried cheaper brands that “supposedly” simply connect via apps and wifi, but they are always flakey. Having the Philips Hue hub means that the connections, the app and the whole process is easy and rock solid. Worth the extra dollars in my opinion.
Reasonably inexpensive way to make your current lamps exciting and adjustable to your needs. I like having lots of colour choices. I also like that I can make the lighting brighter if needed (e.g. when cooking) then dimmer to create mood.
For anyone like me who hates winter mornings, these are great, we have set them up to come on at 6am as a dim red, then each minute get brighter and whiter until my alarm goes off at 6:30, so I'm usually awake by then anyway, but feel like I'm enjoying a Summer Sunday morning lay in.
I love that I can tell Alexa to "Go to bed" from any of my "Alexa rooms" and my bedroom lights switch on with a warm orange glow for me to see to get undressed and all the other lights that are connected to Alexa turn off fifteen minutes later.... Then 15 minutes after the bedroom light dims and switches off, so I have about 30 minutes to get to my room, undress, get into bed and nod off and the light takes care of itself.
I have been assembling my HomeKit based ‘smart home’ components for a number of years, and these bulbs are a mainstay of my setup.
The bulbs work best paired with motion sensors to enable the automation of light actions around your house.
The software is infuriating at times, and smart homes can be hard if people in your household are not tech savvy, as smart should be read as automated, which does not fit with the simplicity of pushing a wall switch and the light comes on. With perseverance though, these things are very cool.
