Pretty cool shorts. I'm 5' 6" I weigh about 155lbs I wear waist sizes 33/34 I ordered a size large and it fits like a normal sized medium. I do not like my shorts fitting/ tight unless they have like a compression liner or something. My large Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G phone fit comfortably in the zipped up pocket. It was a hot 94° day run. I was hot and sweaty. This was my first run in them. They fit nice and comfortable no riding up or anything. Nice purchase.
Original review: We’ve been through years of expensive Nikes and the quality is not always up to snuff even at inflated prices. These G Gradual were a great surprise. First rate all the way! The zipper keeps both cell and wallet inside, and not getting lost on the car seat or worse. So why are these “hand me downs” to dad? Our son did not like the very subtle waffle pattern although I love it. These are a no-brainer buy and the free returns guarantee is confidence inducing, too. The best athletic shorts I’ve found in a long time and less than half the price of the status brands.
Update: I first ordered these G Gradual shorts in light blue and were tremendously impressed. Thus, I enthusiastically ordered two more. These are much tighter. More like between small and medcum than the medium expected. If they fit you, these are a no-brainer buy and the free returns guarantee is confidence inducing, too. I thought I’d found the best athletic in a long time at less than half the price of the status brands. Now I’m just going to have to take a chance on seeing if other colors fit like the light blue ones do.
This is great quality shorts. Fit is perfect (I'm 5'7 145 lbs guy and I bought size Small). Not baggy not tight. No liner which I really like. However, I measured the inseam with a tape measure and it is closer to 8 inches than 7 inches. Even when worn high up the waist it is barely above knee. I don't want to wear it further up the waist otherwise the fabric will be rubbing against the balls. I wear Bonobo Core Shorts (Unlined) 7 inches inseam and they are my benchmarks for length and truly sits above knee.
I ordered a large. The fit/cut is really good. Love that it has zippers on the pockets. Only negative is, you can see right through these. The material could be a little better and the strings and end caps could be nicer.
I WOULD PAY MORE if they made the material better and the strings longer and better quality as well.
Shorts are of great quality, thin, and the perforation makes then extremely light and breathable. Elastic waist band keeps them at your hips where they belong and the drawstring ensures they won't fall past that point. The pocket zippers are a nice feature tho the tabs are kind of small and has you searching to find and grab them to get in. I don't expect the iron on logo to last through many washings but time will tell.
Important note: these run small! I'm 5" 6' @ 157lbs, 32 inch waste and I ordered the XL hoping the would fit loose and they ended up fiting like a pair of boxers, close to the legs and sit above the knee, nothing how the pictures show. With the zippers closed there even snugger so I just leave them open.
Would I buy them again.. well maybe if I order them in a XXXL so I got a little more bunch in the front and they sat an inch or two lower at the knees.. then we're talking..
This is everything I want in a pair of shorts to lounge around the house or make a quick stop to the store: good quality, good looks, and not that extremely long short style. I know a lot of guys like that but it's not my personal style. These are shorter but not ridiculous short. Price is right, too. The only reason I didn't give five stars is the size. I've been wearing a Men's Large waist size for years and this is the first pair of shorts that were that size and were too small. So in the case of these shorts, XL would have been a better fit. Large in this case is snug in the waist and I want to feel loose in them but not like a tent.
Understand that these are listed as "running/workout" shorts, not basketball. Their size runs as expected. They "fit" and are not loose. Material is pretty dang nice tbh, the zippers are pure quality on the pockets. I have purchased 4 pair - all 4 run exactly the same in terms of size, and quality. I purchased the Black, Red, White and Grey. Again...context, these are "not" listed as basketball shorts...but they are indeed good workout shorts. If you're carrying little extra in the waist...I suggest going a size up - it runs exactly to size. Best of Luck!
The shorts are pretty good, the fabric seems better than other brands. They are true to size. I am usually a 32-33" waits in pants, got the medium and they fit just nice. They are also long enough, not too short, not too long either. The pockets work great, the zippers feel sturdy, and the fabric of the pocket is stronger than the fabric of the shorts themselves. The draw cord inside feels better than in other shorts. I am taking one star because they don't have inner liner.
The quality is surprisingly pretty good for the price. The only issue that I can see is after how many washes it will take for the logo to start to crack and peel off. It isn’t screen printed in, so it’s bound to fall off eventually. Why they don’t screen print logos onto athletic wear? I don’t know, but even UA has this flaw and their products are twice as expensive.
