Owned for a year, suction not what I had hoped for and part recently broke off making unusable
Reviewed in Australia on 1 March 2021
I've owned this vacuum for just over a year and have used it as a supplement to my robot vacuum cleaner, on a variety of surfaces (hardwood, tile, low pile carpet) but mainly it's purpose has been for the stairs and dusting cornices and corners where dust settles and is hard to reach.
It replaced a Dyson barrel vacuum which I found cumbersome to lug around a 2 story home.
I found the suction on the Dreame V9 to be lacking for dust collection and the brush crevice tools bristles too soft, so they would bend a lot, making them not very effective.
Additionally, when I last took out the vacuum to use, I noticed that the dust canister bottom was missing, and realised that it must have broken off and fallen into the bin together with the dirt in the canister when I last released the lid to clean: unfortunately by the time it came to my attention that this had happened, the street garbage collection had already occurred, so this part is now buried at the local rubbish tip.
And the vacuum is no longer usable without this part.
A great looking vacuum, and easy to handle/hold, but even without this mishap of the bottom piece breaking off I would not purchase again.
I will be looking for something more powerful (especially now that I might need to replace after 1 year if this part is not available, unable to find one so far).
I am a Xiaomi fan and wanted to really like this but am disappointed.
