I've used Camelbak backpacks since I was in the Marines from 07-15 and would swear by them. Tough as sh**, from a water bladder for pt to enough room for a 3day convoy, plus 100oz of fresh water, CIF had nothing on my gear. I have the chute 50oz for my water, unstoppable. Got the HAWG as my day pack, couldn't be happier. I buy this, expecting the best, but fml, my tea doesn't even stay cold til lunch! I put it in the freezer overnight, nope. Chill the drink and the container before I grab it at 0500 and by 1145, drink is warm, and if I have ice, hardly anything left but a watered down beverage. I had another brand and would last all day. Honestly disappointed in the cold retention area but it seems tough enough. Still use Camelback packs to this day, but most likely will not be purchasing their insulated bottles anymore.
I have one of the older insulated bottles, the two-tone version, it has much more robust magnet in the cap. The cap on the older model just needed a simple flick of the thumb to catch the magnet and stay open. This one needs to careful placement of the cap in just the right spot or the magnet doesn't hold the cap back. Not a huge deal, but a little disappointing.
I've not experienced the remarkable insulating qualities of the various commenters, but it will keep water acceptably cool for quite awhile (slightly better than my Hydro Flask), ice retention not so much (10 std. ice cubes in cold tap water only lasted about five hr's), but the features like the spout and magnetic cap are worth the price of admission. This is really a great water bottle!!
Insulation isn’t great - it doesn’t keep ice very long even in winter temps. Heavy which I expected but assumed it would insulate better. Otherwise it’s great - just know you can get a sports bottle that’s much lighter and cheaper and holds more water because you aren’t getting better insulation with this.
At first I was happy with this but then I realized that the cap design isn’t very good. Small droplets of water get stuck in there and it starts to smell bad. I washed it the night before and it smelled fine. This morning the smell was there again. Don’t get the new version smh.
I loved my cup. I got it in October. March I noticed that the lid started to leak. At first I thought I didn’t have it on correctly but very disappointed that wasn’t the case. Mug been in top of cabinet every since.
