I'm 6'2", 235lbs and wear a 36" waist. I bought a size 5x and they fit perfectly with the ability to snug them up.
Since winter will be over sooner than later. I wanted something light weight to keep the wind from penetrating and to keep me dry in extreme cold when I was mountain biking this winter for a budget price.
I haven't tried them out for a ride because I'm returning them, but I doubt that these will do the trick for very cold weather regarding the wind resistance. The additional piece of fleece on the the thigh doesn't canvass much area and isn't all that thick. 30° and up maybe their what your looking for,,, but the real issue I have is that I ran the thigh and knee area under water for about a minute and the water penetrated through the seams and the inside was starting to get pretty wet. So I think if you're in dry snow or if you're hitting puddles but not in a steady rain would you stay dry.

They are thick but the fleece feels weird against skin and no Matter if it’s cold or not makes my skin sweat even when I’m cold. But I ordered a large not knowing they’re men’s large. However that’s ok I need to wear leggings underneath. They’re flexible and comfortable yet thick. They are waterproof except in the knee area. But that works well enough for me. I love these.
