So far so good. It grabs roots and earth. I chose this weeder because the bottom part was all metal. I have previously bought a weeder that was part metal and part plastic and that didn't last. I have given 4 stars as I will reserve judgement to see how it performs over time

Didn’t work well we have very long tap roots on our weeds ( probably due to lack of water) so not only did I have to have multiple goes at getting the weeds out but it tended to only get partial weeds
