To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.
I bought this by the author of American Dirt, which was a brilliantly written story. This however was one of the worst I have ever read. Jumping between two eras, although informative about the Irish potato famine, had little or no bearing upon the modern day characters, none of which were believable and even likeable. Sent this book to a charity shop where it belongs
The emotions were so heartfelt. I was completely embedded in the era's of the stories, Jeanine ,s descriptions were clear and the smells of the rotting potatoes or Alice'sperfume was so real. I love all her books bgraham1@wildblue
