I just used this jacket to ski for the first time in forever and it was great. It was a beautiful day (sunny and -3 with little to no wind) and I wore this jacket with nothing but a long-sleeved t-shirt underneath and was perfectly warm on the slopes and on the lifts. I think it will be perfect in colder weather too with a proper base layer and there is room for a sweater as well. Just for sizing reference, I am 5'3" 128 lbs with a VERY short torso and a booty. I was having a VERY hard time finding a ski jacket that fit my hips. Every other brand I tried was too long and would lift up in the shoulders because they were too tight on the hips. So I ordered the petite 6 and it fits perfectly everywhere. I could have gone with the 4 but I was worried the arms would be too short and I was right. LOVE that Obermeyer has petite sizing. Super handy. I got the white jacket with the black panels and for what it's worth, my husband says it looks hot, especially from the back (insert eye roll emoji). The only thing I was disappointed with is the lack of vent zippers. For some reason I was under the impression it had some but it does not. Hopefully that won't end up being an issue when spring skiing. If you tend to overheat I'd look for one that has the vent zippers.
This jacket seems really nice. Haven't worn it in the cold yet so I can't review its performance.
Everyone seems to have a problem with sizing so I thought I'd at least provide some information. I'm 5'1 and about 122 lbs. I got size 6 petite. It's roomy enough to wear a hoodie underneath. I also tried on a size 4 in a store which also fit very nicely but more snugly. I got the bigger size for extra room. Hope this helps.
