What arrived in the mail was not the product I thought I was getting. Yes it was a thin flannel shirt and yes it was in the pattern I chose. However, as careful as I am when shopping on Amazon, I missed the words "long sleeve" in the name or description of the product.
I specifically purchased this shirt based on how it looks in the product picture, which chose a 3/4 sleeve instead of a full sleeve with a cuff. Indeed it is a full sleeve with a cuff and I can adapt to that because I can cut the Cuffs off but it kind of bugged me. You should show your product the way it looks. If it is long sleeve with a button cuff then show it with long sleeves and a button cuff. It's not enough of a disappointment for me to send it back but it was definitely an initial disappointment.
One other issue I noted is that many reviews said their shirt shrunk after they washed it. Many other reviews said their shirts didn't shrink after washing. I found this pretty confusing. Mine did shrink but not substantially. It was oversized when it arrived and just about right after laundering.
NOTE THAT this is not the thick warm flannel that you would traditionally think of as a flannel shirt. It is some sort of brushed fabric so that it does kind of have the touch of a flannel shirt but it is much much thinner and therefore it not as warm.
You should definitely size up, especially if you have a big chest. I got an XX Large, I typically wear an XL, because I wanted it to be a little bigger. The XX Large fits like a Large/XL. The material is pretty thin but not see through ( I got the red flannel). Its okay for the price( I paid $16) but I can already tell that it won't last long.
I normally wear a women’s large in shirts, but based on pictures of model with tight fit across the front, I ordered a size up. The shirt fits and isn’t snug ta all, but gapes open between the 2 buttons at the chest area. When I sit down, it gapes open between all of the buttons. Less space between buttons would be an improvement and minimize this issue. The flannel, while thin, has a nice feel and it didn’t shrink when I washed it in cold water and dried it on a medium heat setting. The overall construction of the shirt is decent with double stitching on seams. I like the herringbone pattern of the fabric in the non-plaid shirt
I really like the Dickies flannel shirts I’ve bought before on Amazon. They are cozy, comfortable, and durable. This one is much thinner, has lots of hanging threads, and the cut/hemline is longer and different than the others. It was only $15, but I still expected it to be up to their usual quality.
I thought I would try a new source for women’s flannel shirt other than LL Bean, so I bought this shirt. I am disappointed on many levels. The material is soft but thin, the shirt slightly pulls at the Brest button area, and the sleeves are a little long. This shirt will not be returned, but instead of wearing it in public, I will wear it in early spring and fall as a yard shirt.
Though it did not shrink, you need to iron it with steam to be able to wear it again. If you don't care and love the rugged look, it sure can be an option! The fabric is soft and nice. Cut is also good. Length was what I expected and it has not shrunk after a wash.
i have one flannel shirt; i use it as a "jacket" during our georgia winters. decided i needed another. i had to return the dickies flannel shirt; the cloth was just too thin. it truly IS a shirt. otherwise, i liked the design, tho' it was a bit snug.
I love the color, it is very vibrant and exactly what I was expecting. I am a little disappointed in the fit though. I am a hourglass shape and with ordering a Medium this was snug over the chest then very baggy in the stomach. This shirt has no shape to it at all, it is cut very boxy. Since I sew and this is an easy enough fit I'll be keeping it but it would be nice if I didn't have too...
