Kept interest throughout. The main detective has to work with interesting restrictions. He triumphs in the end and leaves one with a satisfied feeling. Looked for next book by author but turned off by similar start to story. Sorry now looking for different start!
Very much enjoyed this addition to the Tom Janssen series. A really nice blend of Toms personal life and his police life, it’s well written with some great plot directions.. The characters are developing well and very likeable and I always enjoy the countryside and town descriptions, it makes me feel like I’ve almost been there. As always, the pace is just right and keeps me reading, I couldn’t put it down.
Best Yet! Two murders. An old woman and a professional man. Close by but seemingly no connection. Pressure is put on the small closely knit police team when one of them could be too involved. Relationships are threatened, emotions run high and judgments are made in this thrilling mystery where you will not see the end coming! A must read from the amazing Jason Dalgleish!
What an excellent novel. J M Dalgliesh has really stepped up with this one. Interesting and complicated topics make for an intricate plot that hold the reader until the very end. The depth of narrative for each scenario and character is wonderful. Just loved this addition to the Norolk series. Well done, highly recommended.
JM Dalgliesh continues to deliver a great story in his Norfolk series. An interesting twist in the plot as always keeps you from guessing the ending. The main character is drawn into and then excluded from the investigation and it keeps the plot interesting. Another great yarn.
Another great plot which keeps one guessing all the way to the last page. I like the way that Dalgliesh weaves the personal and the procedural together, without them interfering with each other. Good character development and, once again, very evocative descriptions of the Norfolk countryside. Keep them coming!!
