SKINS have had a long history of providing high quality compression clothing for Pros and Joes. It wasn’t that long ago that everyone was spending major cash on these with very little alternatives. These days there are lots of competition in the market and the prices have gone down. What hasn’t changed is that SKINS still provide that “locked in” feel when wearing them the first time to the 100th time. That’s something not a lot of the other brands can say.
These were snug from the get go and the materials were a nice matte finish. They are a little thinner than the A200 and A400 series so consider that for the more modest runners. They do a good job providing compression and reducing muscle vibration. They don’t have a key pocket and the lack of grippers on the waistband mean that they can roll and shift around during intense exercise. But for the price, they’re excellent value and will last a couple of seasons.
Skins are by far one of the best compression gear you can buy. I’ve tried a couple of other brands but the quality never come close to skins. Ok a little pricey but if you get a good deal like I did on this product then it’s a no brainer - I Purchased 3 pairs as this was too good a deal to miss. I’ve been running in these in 1-2 degrees and have kept me warm throughout. I also use while in the gym as underlayer as this was the main reason for purchase.
These are unbelievably good bought a pair of under armour rush which I thought were supposed to compression pants as well and the are no good compared to the skins these are brilliant just sorry I didn't buy two of them as I can seem to find anymore for sale
This is a review of the SKINS Men's DNAmic Force Long Tights - Black, Medium.
I'm no athlete, or runner, but I thought I'd try these tights assuming they'd be useful for wearing under trousers when I was out walking.
I'm 5'8", 9st 3lb, 30" waist, 30" inside leg, so quite a small build. Despite these tights being branded Medium I found them really quite tight. However these are my first pair so not really sure what they're supposed to feel like. When on they didn't leave much to the imagination and I'm not sure I'd wear them in public. But when you see what other runners and cyclists are wearing, perhaps modesty is an optional extra...
I found the material very cold to wear - it seemed to draw heat from me and I was a bit chilly.
However they seemed to be well made.
If you're reading this I'd probably move on to reviews from more expert users. These are not the warm long-johns I thought they'd be and I'm clearly not the target market.
I've always found with compression items that the old adage of not buying cheap is particularly important. Skins aren't cheap but oh boy, they are good. I use these tights for running and you hardly know you're wearing them. They keep your muscles warm and you can definitely feel the compression which certainly helps the next day recovery. Perhaps I need to say something about sizing. The ones I got are Medium and I worried that they might be a bit on the loose side. Not a bit! I'm about 5'8" and a 32" waist and Medium is spot on. I doubt I could get into a Small. Depends on whether your legs are thin/thick also I guess. Length ought to be fine for a 6footer but if you're shorter, like me, it doesn't matter if they run into your shoe as the material is so thin you don't notice it under your foot. Having had a hamstring problem recently on a cold wet run, these give me much needed confidence. I think they make a highly recommended acquisition for any runner, whatever their ability.
