Do not buy this

This table runner comes as described, and is packaged in a nice box and bow. When I opened this item (actually I bought two of these at 72” long in white) it was smooth and looked like a nice quality, especially for the price. I washed it immediately, as I do any fabric item I purchase. After washing and drying per directions on the tag, this runner looked like a pair of linen pants that I crumpled up in a ball and left at the bottom of my hamper for 2 weeks. I ironed them which barely made an improvement in the wrinkles. I washed again hoping it would help for some reason, and it was still awful. I tried steaming the second time around and it was worse than the ironing. A disappointing miss. The low price is not worth the time I have spent trying to smooth this out. Pick a different runner.... unless you’re into really wrinkled stuff.

Much Too Thin for a Placemat

I took a photo of these four mats as compared to four normal placemats. As you can see, they are very thin - even thinner than many of my cloth napkins. There is no way to use them for placemats , especially if you were to place something hot on them. Also, they arrived folded into fourths inside this small box. I seriously doubted, had I kept them, that I could ever get the creases ironed out. They did seem well made and I loved the color, but they are being returned.

This set of mats are the perfect shade of yellow for my St Paddy's Day and Easter table settings. When they arrived, the folds would not come out of the fabric. I laundered as instructed, the wrinkles are horrible. I did cold water wash on the gentle cycle, low tumble dry.... they looked worse than they did with the folds from the way they came out of the packaging. Tried low heat iron.... did nothing.... tried higher heat with a piece of cotton fabric on top to protect them.... still no joy...they are extremely thin and see through. Total disappointment.

This is a very beautiful fine feeling table runner. The color is white on white. It's very delicate. I don't know if I'd wash it. It really doesn't seem like it would be as beautiful if washed. I don't know how much it would cost to dry clean, but I think washing would ruin it.

I did not realize that being linen, these would wrinkle terribly. I washed a set and had to iron on a high setting. Also, any little spot of food/drink shows up a lot. And being linen they are thin, so I was a bit concerned they would let heat from hot dinner plates transfer through to the wood table. Very pretty but that is about it. I was better off with the cheap thicker ones from Kohls I could wash and did not have to iron - unfortunately Kohls did not have the pretty color selection this brand does.

The color is the soft yellow that I was looking for, but the fabric is not the type of fabric that should ever be used for a placemat. These are very thin, almost see through. Not worth buying if you are looking for a placemat. You could not even layer this fabric with fiber fill in the center and quilt it because it is way too thin. Have not washed them yet, but I am sure they will shrink, wrinkle and need ironing, just like a cotton handherchief.

Attractive, wrinkles from being folded for shipment came out easily with Downy Wrinkle Guard. I'm rating this a 3 due to the sheer thin fabric. It is pretty and real linen. I have a cherry table and don't mind the wood showing through the fabric but if you purchase this to cover any defects or scratches it may be too sheer for that purpose.
